On 8 March, the European Commission published the FinTech Action Plan. One of the initiatives taken by the European Commission under this FinTech Action Plan is the proposal for a European Crowdfunding Regulation (the European Crowdfunding Service Providers Regulation). In November last year, the European Commission closed an inception impact assessment in which it requested the market’s feedback whether any kind of regulation or guidance on a European level was needed in relation to crowdfunding. Our firm also responded to this inception impact assessment. The draft European Crowdfunding Regulation, which was published simultaneously with the FinTech Action Plan on 8 March, was open for responses from the market until 11 May. FG Lawyers responded to this draft European Crowdfunding Regulation. You can review our response via the following hyperlink: Response ECSP Regulation FG Lawyers (Netherlands).
